Tara Spitzer

Special Projects

Tara Spitzer is a recent graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received her Bachelors in Physics. She has extensive education in Calculus, Modern Physics, Quantum Physics as well as Chemistry. Tara has been part of the Global Technical Systems team for over 10 years. She supported several roles at GTS including Administrative, Recruiting, Planning and her most recent title, as Special Projects, where she aids in the development of TRL-9 capabilities for composites, hypersonics, kinetic energy systems and hyperconverged network systems. Her strong skills in public speaking, writing and problem solving have helped to assist her along her career path at GTS.

Tara is an active member of the Back Bay Astronomers Club for Hampton Roads. She also enjoys scuba diving, writing and studying the “Golden Age” history between the 1650’s and 1720’s. She is very active in her community volunteering at several hospitals, assisted living communities, and animal adoption centers. Tara will also be a volunteer for the Foster Care Program with the City of Virginia Beach, starting January of 2023.
