Tom Kaupas

Chief Financial Officer


Tom Kaupas is the Chief Financial Officer at Global Technical Systems and its commercial affiliate SPARQ Global LLC, managing financial strategy, and overseeing all financial functions, external stakeholders, and shareholder relations for the organization. He is committed to maximizing long-term shareholder value, ensuring a balanced portfolio of growth initiatives, and maintaining the high level of integrity and transparency for which GTS is known.

With over 25 years of progressive business experience, 20 of which serving as CFO and Vice President of Finance, Tom has been a key part of vibrant growing companies focused on R&D, advanced manufacturing, environmental cleanup, and professional services. He has extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, profit-and-loss leadership, and project- based finance. As CFO, Tom oversees the accounting, business support, financial planning and analysis, treasury, real estate, internal audit and tax functions at GTS.

Prior to joining GTS in 2015, Tom was CFO of a special tactical firm providing anti-piracy ‘fly away’ professional armed security teams on bulk carriers transiting global high-risk waters. He was also a named key person in winning/executing a $500 million project with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to remove mixed byproduct radioactive waste associated with nuclear production and research activity associated with the Manhattan Project and Oak Ridge National Lab.

Tom successfully oversaw financial management and led vendor negotiations for a project to significantly expand the Houston light-rail system. Additionally, he has been recognized by the U.S. Navy for financial management contributions for the Harpoon and Stand-off Land Attack missile programs early in his career.

Tom holds an MBA from Marymount University and BS in Finance from Old Dominion University. In addition, he is a CPA and recently completed the Executive Leadership and Management Certificate program at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton business school.
